239/365.

Tripura.

Today I met some kind folks that belong to the adivasi (indigenous) people group, Tripura.  I found love in their smiles.  Just right there, in their smiles.

Fruits of the Day.
Peyra, lebu, er anar.
Mmmmmm....

218/365.

A Day at Sonagon.
A day of textures, colors and being witness to the blending of old and new.

217/365.

The Other Side of the Tracks.

Perhaps a universal socioeconomic divider...

216/365.

Taken at 11:59:28pm.

Some interesting sort of creature I managed to record before the day ended. :)

208/365.

Evening in Uttara.

Today I enjoyed this street.

206/365.

Evening Traffic.

Today I saw these two on my way to the grocery store.

204/365.

Old Dhaka Tour.

Today I saw new part of the city: the old part.

203/365.

A City That Never Sleeps.

Today I watched the sun wake up in Dhaka - after many early risers had already started the day.

And oh how this city just keeps moving long after the sun again retreats.

200/365.

Day 200.

Today I watched the sunset in the garden. :)

199/365.

My two new best friends in Dhaka.

That's a magazine rack that Jerome is chillin' in.

Needs Assessment.

Today one Mahle village spent the day with us.

Gotta love the Spiderman and Buzz Lightyear shorts these kids were sporting.

The bideshi (foreign) girls got a ride from one side of the village to the other from this guy on his vangarri while the office car followed behind us. We were excited about it.

I ate pork for the first time in Bangladesh today. Not sure which one exactly...

193/365.

Brishti (Rain).

Another farewell from the sky today as I headed out of town.

177/365.

Road Trip.

Today I left Dhaka for the first time.
We left in the rain heading north for Rajshahi.

169/365.

Today, After Church.

These are some Bangladeshi flowers and some Bangladeshi boys.
Aren't they beautiful?

163/365.

My basha (flat).

It's way too big for just me...feel free to come over and stay anytime!!

162/365.

Taking in the scenes.

Today I learned the word for pineapple in Bengali is "anarosh."

161/365.

Dhaka. Day One.

What is the most appropriate thing for a girl to do in a new city? Go shopping, of course!
Here we found some batik fabric makers showing off their skill and art with beautiful designs and techniques.

My New Target.

And this will be Kroger.

160/365.

Arrived.

Exhausted from travel and time zone delirium, this was the only shot I could muster today.
Seeing a cat within the first few hours of my arrival should have been a sign that more were to come...

159/365.

Almost there...

Today I was in Indiaaaa (said like Sarah, from The Little Princess).

On this final flight into Dhaka, I watched the sun rise over the delta...

..and studied (literally) how to exit Dhaka airport.

Here she is: my home for the next six months. :)
