Sweet Tea. Kitty Bath.

Today I brought some of the South to the East. It was a hit.

I also found out my kitties look quite like rats when wet...

But super cute when dry...I really can't decide who is cuter here...

212/365.

Today I used up all of my Bangla tissues and was thankful I had packed my ricolas...

Room With A View.

They often work on this building at 2AM..

So I decided to keep my eye on its progress since so many hours of my sleep are invested in its construction. ;)

203/365.

A City That Never Sleeps.

Today I watched the sun wake up in Dhaka - after many early risers had already started the day.

And oh how this city just keeps moving long after the sun again retreats.

202/365.

Happy Birt_day Gail!

Today I was missing sweet Gail.

201/365.

Futchska.

Today I tried a super yummy Bangladeshi street snack with two of my sweet Bangladeshi buddies. They promised to pay the medical bills if I got really sick...but I didn't!
And the risk was worth it, by the way. Moja(yumm!!)!

Today we discovered the kitty count to be 3, down from 5.
It's a cruel world out there, folks.

197/365.

Jerome makes my day.

Need I say more?

196/365.

Rice view.

Today Jenny, Anna and I got up early with the sun to check out the rooftop scenery.

I could watch the rice for days...

195/365.

Needs Assessment.

Today one Mahle village spent the day with us.

Gotta love the Spiderman and Buzz Lightyear shorts these kids were sporting.

The bideshi (foreign) girls got a ride from one side of the village to the other from this guy on his vangarri while the office car followed behind us. We were excited about it.

I ate pork for the first time in Bangladesh today. Not sure which one exactly...

194/365.

Matindor.

Today I saw this incredibly beautiful Mahle lady weave baskets.
With her feet.

193/365.

189/365.

July Birthdays.

Today we had more birthday celebrations with this yummy treat.

188/365.

Enter: Kitties.

So there were 5 little bundles of joy delivered to the office dumpster by its mom a few weeks back and dear Dipu, our cleaner, rescued them. She found a box and clean papers in which the mom could rest and nurse her babes. Location of box: on the steps to the entrance of the office. They are officially people friendly office kitties. More on this story to come...

187/365.

Mangoes.

Tonight I cut up a lot of mangoes by lantern light. A lot.

186/365.

Air Con.

Today this guy was installed in my bedroom and cooled air flowed.
